Located in the north central portion of South Dakota, the Cheyenne River Reservation is made up of scenic prairies and abundant wildlife. Visitors can meet artists or purchase locally made authentic Lakota artwork at annual powwows and rodeos, or area gift shops. Visit the HVJ Lakota Cultural Center, in Eagle Butte, and the Timber Lake and Area Museum, in Timber Lake, where you’ll learn more about the history and the people who call the Cheyenne River Reservation home.

Home of the Oglala Lakota Tribe, the Pine Ridge Reservation is located in southwestern South Dakota. The Reservation is bordered on the north by Badlands National Park. The Pine Ridge Reservation is home to many great Native American leaders, such as Chief Red Cloud. Many nationally known artists hail from this area and continue to produce magnificent works of art here. Artwork is on display at many locations on the Pine Ridge Reservation, including the Oglala Lakota College, near Kyle, and The Heritage Center at the Red Cloud Indian School, near the town of Pine Ridge.

The Rosebud Reservation is found in south central South Dakota. The Reservation is made up of picturesque landscapes of rolling prairies and grasslands, along with sharp hills and ravines. Breathtaking works of art can be viewed throughout the Reservation, including the Buechel Memorial Lakota Museum at St. Francis Mission, in St. Francis, at Sicangu Heritage Center at Sinte Gleska University in the community of Antelope, and at Soldier Woman Gallery, in Mission.
